  • Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Kids Learn to Sail at Hobie Day 2016
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas (BBBS) held its annual sailing event, Hobie Day, on Saturday, August 6 at Lake Travis for hundreds of kids (“Littles”) in the BBBS program. Over 200 Littles, their family members and mentors (“Bigs”) enjoyed swimming and sailing on catamarans and sailboats. The Austin Cats, a group of sailing enthusiasts, have hosted the event for nearly forty years.

  • Reminiscing on Ice Ball 2015
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas' brightest gem, the Ice Ball, is coming up in less than a month! During last year's gala, nearly 750 guests raised an amazing $600,000 for our kids.   • Encouragement and possibilities were the themes as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas promised and awarded almost $900,000 in college scholarships to more than 400 students at the agency’s 30th Annual Promising Futures Scholarship Ceremony on Saturday, June 11. Held at the For the City Center, the event featured Mayor Steve Adler as the keynote speaker. He addressed his remarks to an audience made up of students, families and mentors.
