Leadership Circle Reception

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas recently recognized three outstanding individual donors and one corporation and announced plans to celebrate its 40th anniversary year by matching 40 kids in need with a mentor during their annual Leadership Circle Reception held in the GSD&M lobby on Thursday evening, Oct. 27, 2011.

Individuals recognized include Dr. Mark Auler and Mark Isaak, both BBBS Executive Board Members, whose ongoing fundraising efforts have brought hundreds of thousands of dollars to the agency, and Dale Murphy, a Big Brother whose work over the years for Bowl for Kids, our largest annual fundraiser, has resulted in $108,000 in additional funds for our mentoring programs. Trudy’ Texas Star was also recognized for their support over the past five years, including serving for three years as the title sponsor for Bowl for Kids. They have provided more than $75,000 to support BBBS’s one-to-one mentoring programs.

Joe Enzminger and Anna Stevens were also recognized as the 2012 Big Brother and Big Sister of Year for their commitment and dedication to the BBBS program as well as for their service as an advocate for the BBBS mission. Selected from more than 1,000 active Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers, they will go on to complete for the 2012 Big Brother and Big Sister of the Year honor.

Thanks to South Texas Money Management, Texas Capital Bank, and GSD&M whose generosity made the reception possible.
