BBBS Annual Gala: A Celebration of Community, Connection, and Mentorship

This year’s Ice Ball was nothing short of spectacular. On August 23, our community came together at the JW Marriott  downtown Austin to celebrate mentorship, connection, and the power of igniting potential. From the elegant ballroom to the inspiring impact videos of Bigs and Littles, every detail of the evening reflected the heart of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas’ mission.

Most importantly, we are deeply grateful to everyone who made this evening possible. A very special thank you goes to Lara Burns Boyda and Matthew Boyda, whose leadership as Ice Ball Chairs helped make the night a remarkable success. We also want to recognize David Yurman, who donated a stunning bracelet for our final Paddle Up package, and Diamonds Direct, who contributed a beautiful pendant for our Heads or Tails game. Their generosity added energy and excitement to the evening, and we are truly thankful for their continued partnership. The celebration continued with the lively after party and the Teakeasy + Tito’s Speakeasy, where guests enjoyed handcrafted cocktails, casino games, and dancing late into the night. 

We are also grateful to our vendors and partners from décor and production to catering and AV, who helped bring t the evening to life. This year’s event was made even more meaningful by an official proclamation from the Office of Mayor Kirk Watson, recognizing Ice Ball and honoring the impact of mentoring across Central Texas. It was a powerful reminder that the work we do together not only transforms individual lives, but also strengthens our entire community.
