BBBS SELECTS AGENCY PRESIDENT

Agency fills new leadership position.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas is pleased to announce the hiring of Leah Newkirk Meunier, Ph.D. as the agency’s new President. In this newly created position, Dr. Meunier will report to the CEO and, as a member of the agency’s Senior Leadership Team, she will oversee the agency’s Development, Finance and Operations functions.

“I am excited to welcome Leah to the BBBS family,” said BBBS CEO Dr. Brent Fields. “She will work alongside me to ensure BBBS’ fiscal, fundraising and development, human resources, and operations strategies are effectively implemented across the organization. Specifically, the President will act as a trusted thought partner to support management of BBBS’ leadership team and staff and align overall business processes.”

Dr. Meunier comes to BBBS from Workforce Solutions Capital Area as their Senior Director of Business Engagement and Chief Strategy Officer. Prior to joining Workforce Solutions, she served in a variety of roles at United Way for Greater Austin, including Success By 6 Program Manager, Director of Major Gifts, and Chief Programs Officer. Leah has taught Child Development at The University of Texas at Austin and served as a Master Teacher in UT’s Priscilla Pond Flawn Child and Family Laboratory School.

As a College of Natural Sciences fellowship recipient, Meunier’s published research focused on early childhood, adolescent development, maternal depression, and parenting. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Tulane University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin.
