BBBS Ranked Among Top 10 Nonprofits

A national survey from global market research company Morning Consult has identified Big Brothers Big Sisters as one of the top 10 ‘Most Favorable’ and ‘Most Trusted’ Nonprofits in America.

Morning Consult looked at almost 100 national and international nonprofits and foundations to offer a comprehensive look at Americans’ perceptions of the ‘Most Loved’ Nonprofits in America. Using the metrics of favorability, trust, community impact and donation consideration, Big Brothers Big Sisters was found to be among the top ten nonprofits considered ‘Most Favorable’ and ‘Most Trusted’ based on a national survey sample of adults.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas serves nearly 1,000 children in Central Texas every day. For over 49 years the organization has matched children, ages 6 and above, with caring adult mentors who offer encouragement and support to each child.

Research shows that children enrolled in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program perform better in school, are more likely to steer clear of drugs or alcohol, avoid early parenting, and go on to attend college at rates that are higher than the national average for their peers.

There are currently almost 500 children in our community who are waiting to be matched with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of their own. BBBS has an urgent need for additional volunteers to sign up to become mentors.

The need has never been greater, the online process has never been easier, and the impact is life-changing.

Prospective volunteers are urged to begin the online application process now in order to be matched with a child as soon as possible. Active Bigs and Littles are currently enjoying ‘virtual’ meetings and activities in accordance with the community’s ‘shelter-in-place’ directives.
